The Challenge: A Brilliant Idea, a Visualization Problem
Royal Furniture, a household name in the UAE, has long been known for crafting high-quality, stylish furniture. As part of their mission to offer smart, adaptable solutions for modern living, the company introduced a new line of modular sofas — pieces that could be mixed and matched to suit any space or style. The idea clicked instantly with customers.
But that’s where a major challenge surfaced.
While the flexibility of modular sofas appealed to people, visualizing the final configuration was tough for both customers and in-store staff. Trying to imagine how individual pieces would look together in a living room became a guessing game. Sales reps often resorted to hand-drawn sketches, and customers had a hard time feeling confident about their decisions.
The main issues:
Customers couldn’t easily see how their chosen layout would look in their space.
Staff found it difficult to show the endless configuration possibilities.
This gap affected customer confidence and buying decisions.
Royal Furniture needed a solution that could bring the product to life -digitally, visually, and interactively

The Solution: A Custom 3D Sofa Configurator by DAT
To bridge this gap, Royal Furniture partnered with DAT to develop a powerful, easy-to-use 3D Sofa Configurator built on the Levit3D platform.
This tool gave both customers and staff the ability to:
Explore every sofa module in 360 degrees.
Drag, drop, and rearrange pieces to build custom layouts.
Preview different fabrics, colors, leg styles, and cushion types.
Create accurate room fits with real-time visual updates.
No more guesswork. No more sketches. Just a clear, interactive, and realistic preview of the final product.
The interface was designed for ease of use, making it accessible for everyone from seasoned designers to everyday shoppers. What made the tool even more powerful was its ability to simulate real-world furniture placement using smart alignment and occlusion technology.
For example:
L-shaped and straight modules would auto-align to walls and corners.
Chaise lounges would snap to the right end of a layout.
Every backrest, cushion, and armrest would connect smoothly, just like it would in real life.
Turning Ideas Into Reality: The Measurable Impact
With the new 3D Configurator in place, Royal Furniture quickly saw real results:
Higher Sales: Customers could now “try before they buy,” leading to greater confidence and more conversions, both online and in stores.
Better Engagement: Shoppers enjoyed building sofas that fit their style, space, and taste without limitations.
Fewer Returns: With exact visualizations, buyers were more sure of their decisions, reducing the chances of post-purchase dissatisfaction.
Wider Reach: The DIY, tech-enabled experience appealed to a broader market from young families to architects and interior designers.
Stronger Brand Edge: In a competitive market, this smart tool helped Royal Furniture stand out.
